Dhaka, June 6, 2025: On the final day before Eid, Kamalapur Railway Station witnessed an overwhelming crowd from early morning as people rushed to return home. On Friday (June 6), a visit to the station revealed countless individuals purchasing standing tickets to leave the capital for their hometowns. Intercity trains were packed to the brim, with no space to spare. Many Dhaka residents were seen risking their lives by climbing onto train roofs to make the journey home.
At the Airport Railway Station, several trains arrived at platforms with delays of 10-20 minutes. The Cox’s Bazar-bound Parjatan Express faced the most significant delay. According to the station master, the train’s schedule was disrupted due to an accident in Chattogram’s Boalkhali on Thursday (June 5).
Stringent security measures were in place at Kamalapur Railway Station, with no one allowed to enter the platforms without a ticket. Despite the heavy crowds, the joy of returning home for Eid was evident on the faces of passengers.
