Dhaka, June 6, 2025: The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecasted light to moderate rainfall, possibly accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds, in various parts of the country on Eid day. According to a weather bulletin issued on Friday (June 6) by the BMD’s Storm Warning Centre, some areas in Chattogram and Sylhet divisions, along with a few places in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, and Barisal divisions, may experience temporary gusty winds with light to moderate rain or thunderstorms.
The BMD further stated that daytime and nighttime temperatures are likely to rise slightly on Eid day, resulting in relatively warmer weather. However, light rainfall in some areas may offer relief. The monsoon is currently less active over Bangladesh, with weak to moderate conditions in the North Bay of Bengal.
Similar weather conditions are expected from 6 PM today for the next 24 hours. From 6 PM on June 8 (the day after Eid), light to moderate rain or thunderstorms with gusty winds are likely in a few places across all divisions. Elsewhere, the weather may remain mostly dry with partly cloudy skies. While daytime temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged, nighttime temperatures may increase slightly.
The BMD also indicated that rainfall activity may increase towards the end of the week, potentially leading to a slight decrease in temperatures.
