Dhaka, June 23, 2025: Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Advisor to the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and Ministry of Water Resources, announced that a masterplan is being considered to protect and preserve Saint Martin’s Island. She made these remarks during a press conference held on Monday to mark World Environment Day and the Environment Fair.
The advisor highlighted that the natural environment of Saint Martin’s is gradually recovering. To ensure the island’s long-term protection, the government is planning to formulate a comprehensive masterplan. As part of this initiative, a project funded by the Climate Trust Fund is also being developed.
