Storm Warning Issued for Seven Regions

 
Dhaka, June 28, 2025: The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has issued a storm warning for seven regions of the country. The department forecasts that storms with wind speeds of up to 60 kilometers per hour, accompanied by rain or thundershowers, may occur in these areas.

According to a weather forecast issued by meteorologist Dr. Md. Omar Faruk on Saturday (June 28), the regions of Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Cumilla, Noakhali, Chattogram, and Cox’s Bazar may experience temporary rain or thundershowers with gusty winds blowing from the south/southeast at speeds of 45-60 kilometers per hour. River ports in these areas have been instructed to display cautionary signal number 1. The weather office reported that at 6:00 AM on Saturday, the temperature in Dhaka was 28.1°C with 83% humidity. The maximum temperature in Dhaka yesterday was 33.0°C, while the minimum temperature today was recorded at 28.0°C. Over the past 24 hours, the capital experienced trace amounts of rainfall.
According to the latest forecast, most areas in Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions, along with many places in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions, may see temporary gusty winds with light to moderate rain or thundershowers. Some areas in Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions could also experience moderately heavy to heavy rainfall. The day and night temperatures across the country are expected to remain nearly unchanged.
