Cox’s Bazar, June 8, 2025 : Cox’s Bazar, the world’s longest natural sea beach, is witnessing a massive influx of tourists during the Eid-ul-Adha holidays. Nearly all of the over 500 hotels, motels, resorts, guest houses, and cottages in the area are fully booked, signaling an overwhelming response from visitors.
Since Sunday morning (June 8), thousands of tourists from across the country have been arriving in Cox’s Bazar. Families are enjoying the azure waters and expansive sandy shores, with attractions like beach chairs, horse rides, beach bikes, and jet skis keeping visitors engaged. No beach chair remains unoccupied as tourists soak in the vibrant atmosphere.
Abul Kasem Sikdar, President of the Hotel, Motel, and Guest House Owners’ Association, stated, “During the 10-day Eid-ul-Adha holidays, Cox’s Bazar has seen a huge influx of tourists. Almost all accommodations are fully booked, and we expect the crowd to grow further from tomorrow.”
Sudais, a tourist from Cumilla, shared, “I arrived this morning with my family and checked into a hotel near Dolphin Point. The room rates seem a bit high, but we’re enjoying ourselves.”
Humayun Azad from Dhaka added, “I’ve been planning to visit Cox’s Bazar for a long time but couldn’t due to various reasons. Today, I’m here with my family, and the sound of the waves and the environment are truly delightful.”
Kamrul, a London-based expatriate from Sylhet visiting Cox’s Bazar for the first time, remarked, “I’ve never seen so many people at an entertainment destination before. It feels amazing.”
Beach worker supervisor Mahbub Alam noted, “Since morning, thousands of tourists have been arriving. Popular spots like Laboni Point, Sugandha Point, and Kalatoli Point are packed, and the crowd is expected to increase by evening. We’re working to ensure tourist safety.”
Joynal Abedin Bhuttu, in-charge of Sea Safe Lifeguards, highlighted safety measures: “The sea is slightly rough right now. We’ve marked safe swimming areas with yellow flags and dangerous zones with red flags. However, some tourists ignore these warnings and swim in risky areas, which poses challenges. We’re doing our best to raise awareness.”
District Administrator Mohammad Salauddin assured, “We’ve made all necessary preparations to serve tourists during the Eid holidays. Law enforcement agencies are also ensuring security.
