Trump Compares US Strike on Iran’s Nuclear Sites to Hiroshima, Claims It Ended War

US President Donald Trump has likened the recent US strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities to the Hiroshima atomic bombing, asserting it has “completely destroyed” Iran’s nuclear capabilities and ended the Israel-Iran conflict. The claim was reported by Indian outlet NDTV on Wednesday, June 25, 2025.
Trump stated that last week’s US attacks on Iran’s nuclear sites in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan have crippled Iran’s nuclear program, setting it back by decades. However, the US Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) noted that the facilities were damaged but not destroyed, and restoration is possible.
At the NATO summit in The Hague, Netherlands, Trump rejected the intelligence report, saying, “I don’t want to cite Hiroshima or Nagasaki, but such events end wars. This strike stopped the Israel-Iran war.” He added that without the attack, the conflict would have persisted. Questioning the US intelligence assessment, Trump said a full damage report would require Israel’s evaluation.
Lashing out at the media, Trump posted on Truth Social: “Fake news CNN and the failing New York Times are trying to belittle the most successful military strike in history. Iran’s nuclear facilities are completely destroyed!”
