International Desk, June 14, 2025: Under the directive of President Donald Trump, the United States has activated all its military bases in the Middle East. This move is part of extensive preparations in response to the ongoing tit-for-tat attacks between Iran and Israel.
According to a report by The Washington Post on Saturday (June 14), the activation of US military bases comes in the wake of Israel’s devastating strikes on Iran and Tehran’s retaliatory attacks. The bases have been instructed to remain active and vigilant, ready to counter any threats or launch strikes against adversaries at any moment.
As per the Council on Foreign Relations, the US operates a vast network of both permanent and temporary military bases in at least 19 locations across the Middle East. Eight of these permanent bases are located in Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
The report further states that, alongside enhancing the capabilities of these bases, the US is deploying additional warships to the region. These warships could be used against Iran. The ballistic missile defense-capable destroyer USS Thomas Hudner has been ordered to move from the western Mediterranean to the eastern Mediterranean. Additionally, another missile destroyer has been directed to advance, ensuring readiness in line with White House requests.
US officials have revealed that extra security measures have been implemented at air bases. However, these matters have not yet been officially disclosed, as they remain part of ongoing military operations.
