On Friday, July 11, 2025, at around 11:00 AM, a five-vehicle collision on the Dhaka-Mawa Expressway near the Padma Bridge North Thana in Louhajang, Munshiganj, left 15 people injured. The incident was confirmed by Abdul Quader Jilani, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Hasara Highway Police, in a statement .
According to OC Jilani, police and fire service teams promptly responded to bring the situation under control. Traffic on the Dhaka-Mawa Expressway has now returned to normal. Dewan Azad Hossain, Station Officer of Sreenagar Fire Station, stated that the injured were rescued and sent to various hospitals for treatment.
Local sources reported that a Dhaka-bound bus operated by Imad Paribahan suffered brake failure near the Padma Bridge North Thana, causing it to lose control and collide with an Ilish Paribahan bus, a Gosairhat Express bus, a private car, and a jeep. The collision resulted in 15 injuries.
