Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal Announces Month-Long Programs to Commemorate Martyrs of July-August Mass Uprising


Dhaka, July 10, 2025: The Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal has announced a month-long series of programs to honor the martyrs of the historic July-August mass uprising. The announcement was made in a press release on Thursday night by Chhatra Dal President Rakibul Islam Rakib and General Secretary Nasir Uddin Nasir.

The press release stated that the programs aim to commemorate the July-August uprising, pay respects to the martyrs and the injured, preserve historical memories, acknowledge the contributions of all stakeholders, foster national unity against fascism, and celebrate the first anniversary of the heroic victory in the prolonged struggle of students and the masses against oppressive rule. As part of these initiatives, the following programs have been outlined to honor all martyrs of the July-August uprising, including Abu Sayed and Wasim Akram: 1. On July 16, student rallies will be held in Chattogram and Rangpur divisions, with participation from leaders of universities, districts, metropolitan areas, colleges, upazilas, and municipalities in these divisions. 2. On July 16, memorial meetings will be held in all districts and metropolitan areas across the country, except in Chattogram and Rangpur divisions. 3. On July 17, memorial meetings will be organized in all educational institutions nationwide. 4. On July 18, after Asr prayers, doa and milad mahfils will be held in all upazilas and municipalities across the country to pray for the souls of the martyrs and the recovery of the injured. The programs reflect Chhatra Dal’s commitment to honoring the sacrifices made during the uprising and reinforcing the fight for democracy and justice.
