Gopalganj, July 16, 2025: A convoy of the National Citizen’s Party (NCP) was attacked by activists of the banned Awami League and Chhatra League while returning from a rally in Gopalganj, transforming the area into a battleground. The incident occurred around 2:45 PM on Wednesday, July 16, in the launch ghat area of Gopalganj town.
According to reports, the attackers blocked the road and targeted the convoy carrying NCP’s central leaders and activists, hurling bricks and stones. Several vehicles in the convoy were vandalized during the assault. When police attempted to intervene, clashes erupted between the two groups. To control the situation, police and army personnel were seen firing several rounds of rubber bullets and sound grenades.
