He stated that steps are being taken to bring the Mitford murder case in the capital to the Speedy Trial Tribunal. One person has already been arrested in connection with a murder case in Khulna. He emphasized that the police will not show leniency to any criminal.
These remarks were made to journalists on Sunday (July 13) afternoon following the 11th meeting of the Advisory Council Committee on Law and Order at the Home Ministry’s conference room.
The Home Affairs Adviser further noted that law enforcement agencies are conducting regular operations against all types of criminal activities, including murder, theft, robbery, extortion, snatching, terrorism, kidnapping, violence against women, mob violence, and drug trafficking. Depending on the situation, the government may launch special or combing operations to apprehend identified criminals and terrorists. He urged the public and all stakeholders to cooperate fully in these efforts.
He also assured that the government will take strict action to suppress any activities that disrupt public order and safety.
