Directorate of Primary Education Requests Repair Demands for Polling Stations in Primary Schools

The Directorate of Primary Education has issued a letter requesting repair demands for government primary schools designated as polling stations for the upcoming national parliamentary election. The funding for these repairs will be allocated under the operational budget of the revenue sector for the 2025-26 fiscal year.

On Tuesday, July 29, 2025, a letter signed by Mirajul Islam Ukil, Director (Planning and Development) of the Directorate, was sent to all District Education Officers. The letter specifies that the repair work must follow the guidelines outlined in the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education’s circular dated May 20, 2013, regarding minor repairs.

District Education Offices are required to collect and compile data from all Upazila/Thana Education Offices using a prescribed format and submit both hard copies and soft copies (via email to dirplandpe@gmail.com and adplandpe@gmail.com) to the Director (Planning and Development) by August 10, 2025. Schools that do not currently require repairs or renovations are instructed not to submit demands. For context, the 12th national parliamentary election had approximately 44,000 polling stations. The 11th election had over 40,000 polling stations with more than 200,000 polling booths. The 10th election featured 37,707 polling stations and 189,078 booths, while the 9th election had 35,263 polling stations and 177,277 booths.
