A national rally organized by Jamaat-e-Islami is currently underway at Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital. The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has implemented extensive security measures to ensure the event proceeds smoothly. To prevent any untoward incidents and maintain law and order, the DMP has adopted stringent precautionary measures aimed at ensuring a peaceful gathering and safeguarding public safety.
Since Saturday (July 19) morning, police personnel have been stationed at key intersections across the capital. Additionally, a significant number of police officers, both in uniform and plainclothes, have been deployed at the rally venue and surrounding areas.
The DMP has ensured airtight security at the rally venue and its surroundings, with various police units working in coordination. Officers are conducting searches of individuals deemed suspicious. The police are working together to maintain a secure and orderly environment at the venue.
DMP’s Media and Public Relations Division Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Talebur Rahman stated, “We have taken adequate security measures for Jamaat-e-Islami’s national rally. A sufficient number of police personnel are deployed at the venue and surrounding areas to ensure no untoward incidents occur. The police have implemented the highest level of security arrangements.”
Notably, the main segment of Jamaat-e-Islami’s national rally is scheduled to begin at 2:00 PM on Saturday (July 19). The event will be chaired by the party’s Ameer, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, with central leaders delivering speeches. With the national election approaching, significant announcements may also be made during the rally.
