Dhaka, July 28, 2025: Jatiya Party Chairman Golam Mohammad Quader (GM Quader) has stated that even those close to the interim government are now questioning its ability to conduct a credible election. In a statement issued on Monday, he raised concerns about the government's neutrality and capacity to organize a fair electoral process.
Quader alleged that a political group, with the support of the administration, police, and military, is actively engaging in political activities while obstructing registered parties like Jatiya Party. “Even those close to the government are saying there is a government within the government. They are saying this government lacks the capacity to hold elections and is not neutral,” he said.
Quader further alleged that the government is attempting to create divisions within Jatiya Party. “The government is contemplating whether to allow us to engage in politics or participate in elections. Since banning Jatiya Party is not feasible in the current domestic and international context, efforts are being made to create a Jatiya Party without GM Quader,” he claimed.
