HSC Examinee Killed in Bauphal, Patuakhali Over Land Dispute

 

In Bauphal, Patuakhali, an HSC examinee named Fahim Boyati was brutally hacked to death by rivals due to a land dispute. His father was also critically injured in the attack.

The incident occurred on Tuesday (July 1) around 5 PM in the Dhulufakir Bazar area. Fahim Boyati (18), son of Zakir Boyati from Bhagra area of Ward No. 5, Naomala Union, was a student appearing for the HSC exams from Naomala Abdur Rashid Khan Degree College. His father, Zakir Boyati, a fish trader by profession, is currently in critical condition and receiving treatment at Barishal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital.

According to locals, a longstanding land dispute existed between Zakir Boyati and his neighbor Shanu Gazi in the Bhagra area of Naomala Union. On Tuesday afternoon, Shanu Gazi (52) and his associates launched a sudden attack in the Dhulufakir Bazar area, hacking Zakir Boyati and his son Fahim. The victims were rushed to Patuakhali Medical College Hospital, but Fahim succumbed to his injuries on the way. Locals apprehended Shanu Gazi and handed him over to the police.
Bauphal Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Aktaruzzaman Sarker confirmed that Fahim’s body is at the morgue of Patuakhali Medical College Hospital, and Shanu Gazi has been arrested in connection with the incident.
