HSC Exams 2025 - Third Day Sees 62 Expulsions, 24,864 Absentees

On the third day of the 2025 Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations, 62 students were expelled across the country for resorting to unfair means and violating exam regulations. Additionally, 24,891 examinees were absent from the exams held on this day.

The examinations, which included English (Compulsory) 1st Paper, Bangla 1st Paper, Computer Office Application-2, and Higher Mathematics-2, took place on Tuesday, July 1, 2025. The Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee confirmed these details based on reports submitted by various education boards.

A total of 2,797 exam centers hosted the exams, with 1,251,000 registered candidates. Out of these, 1,172,069 students participated, while 24,864 (2.41% of the total) were absent. Among the education boards, the breakdown is as follows: -Dhaka Education Board: Out of 277,988 registered candidates, 273,586 appeared, with 4,402 absent and 7 expelled. - Rajshahi Education Board**: 2,527 absent, 1 expelled. - **Comilla Education Board**: 1,870 absent, 4 expelled. - Jessore Education Board**: 2,523 absent, 2 expelled. - **Chittagong Education Board**: Out of 97,993 participants, 1,579 were absent, and 5 were expelled. - Sylhet Education Board**: Out of 63,012 candidates, 952 were absent, and 2 were expelled. - Barisal Education Board**: 1,341 absent, 5 expelled. - Dinajpur Education Board**: 1,757 absent, 6 expelled. - Mymensingh Education Board**: 1,280 absent, 7 expelled. In the **Madrasa Education Board**, 79,525 students participated in the Alim exams, with 4,631 absent and 8 expelled for malpractice. Under the **Technical Education Board**, exams for Computer Office Application-2 and Higher Mathematics-2 saw 101,291 registered candidates, with 2,002 absent and 15 expelled. Exams were also conducted at eight centers abroad under the Dhaka Education Board’s supervision. The 2025 HSC and equivalent exams began on June 26, 2025, across 2,797 centers with approximately 1,251,000 candidates. On the first day, 19,759 students were absent, and 43 were expelled for breaching discipline. On the second day, 22,391 candidates were absent, and 42 individuals, including 41 students and 1 teacher, were expelled for violating exam rules.
The written exams will conclude on August 10, 2025, followed by practical exams from August 11 to August 21, 2025.
