Popular Bangladeshi celebrity couple Tahsan Khan and Rafiath Rashid Mithila ended their 11-year marriage in October 2017. Their relationship began through their shared passion for music, leading to their marriage on August 3, 2006. The couple has a daughter, Ayra Tehreem Khan.
In a recent podcast, Mithila spoke candidly about her life post-divorce. Despite her busy schedule with acting and social work, she has ensured her personal challenges do not affect her professional life. However, the period following her separation from Tahsan was particularly difficult. In the podcast, Mithila shared, “My life changed completely overnight. I lived with my in-laws, and I have a child. But I realized that place wasn’t my future.” Being a single mother posed significant challenges for Mithila. She explained, “Motherhood isn’t easy, especially while managing a full-time job. I’m blessed that my workplace had a daycare facility. Balancing work with a breastfeeding child, alongside such a life-altering event like deciding to part ways with my partner, was complicated. It required carefully handling our child’s needs.” Mithila further elaborated, “When the divorce happened, Ayra was just one or one-and-a-half years old. She was very young. Dealing with publicity, society, family, and everything else was a challenge. The thought of raising my child alone was daunting—a truly tough time.” However, Mithila emphasized that she wasn’t entirely alone during this period. She received support from her family and Ayra’s father. “My daughter grew up in a joint family with my parents and siblings around. She also shares a great bond with her father,” Mithila added.
