At a shadow parliament organized by Debate for Democracy, Professor Dr. Maudud Hossain Alamgir Pavel, Convener of BNP’s Media Cell, delivered a keynote address, stating, “The July Uprising was not just a movement; it was the expression of public outrage against 17 years of exploitation, oppression, humiliation, and deprivation by the Awami League. The crimes committed by the Awami League, including enforced disappearances and murders, deserve more than just hatred—justice is essential.” He added, “Enforced disappearance is the most heinous crime in the world. Families of the disappeared cannot celebrate Eid, festivals, or any joyous occasion, as their wait never ends. By allowing law enforcement to use lethal weapons, Sheikh Hasina created a dark chapter in history. Any attempt to rehabilitate the Awami League is tantamount to siding with criminals. Unity among anti-fascist forces is now indispensable.”

He cautioned that conspiracies are underway to dismantle this unity, emphasizing, “No division can be allowed in this alliance. Regardless of who the terrorists are, they must be brought to justice, and law enforcement agencies must act impartially.”
In his speech, Hasan Ahmed Chowdhury Kiron, Chairman of Debate for Democracy, said, “Every killing during the July movement was carried out under Sheikh Hasina’s orders. She was a ruthless, cruel, and inhumane dictator who considered the country her personal property. She mastered the art of establishing lies as truth.” He added, “Due to the July massacre, Sheikh Hasina and many Awami League leaders will lose their eligibility to participate in elections. The July Uprising is a symbol of our unity and the pride of our youth. Its spirit must not be wasted.”
