Shefali Jariwala's Death: Anti-Aging Drugs and Fasting Under Police Scrutiny

Bollywood’s popular actress and item girl, famously known as the "Kaanta Laga Girl," Shefali Jariwala, passed away at the age of 42. She succumbed to a heart attack on Friday night (June 27, 2025).

The actress, who gained immense popularity through Bigg Boss 13, was rushed to Mumbai’s Bellevue Multispecialty Hospital by her husband, actor Parag Tyagi, along with three others. After examination, doctors declared her dead.

Her sudden demise has sparked various speculations in Bollywood. Was Shefali Jariwala’s death natural or unnatural? To determine the cause of her sudden death, a special police investigation is being assisted by five prominent doctors. Preliminary findings suggest that prolonged fasting, leading to a sudden drop in blood pressure or cardiac complications, could be a possible cause. Additionally, the side effects of long-term use of anti-aging drugs are also being considered as a potential factor. Dr. Dhirendra Singhania, Chief Consultant of Interventional Cardiology at Hyderabad’s renowned Yashoda Super Specialty Hospital, told NDTV in an interview, “The use of steroids, insomnia, excessive medication, or hormone therapy could also play a role in such deaths. However, the exact cause can only be confirmed through the postmortem report.” According to police sources, the final postmortem report is expected by Monday (June 30, 2025). Further legal steps will be taken based on the findings of this report.
Expressing deep concern, doctors also stated that a detailed investigation is underway to determine if negligence or any unnatural factors contributed to Shefali’s death.
