The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has issued a warning of potential storms with wind speeds of up to 60 km per hour in six regions of the country by 6:00 PM today. The affected areas include Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Chattogram, and Cox’s Bazar. The BMD has instructed river ports in these regions to hoist Cautionary Signal No. 1.

According to a forecast by BMD Assistant Meteorologist Afroza Sultana, temporary gusty or squally winds from the southeast/east, accompanied by rain or thunderstorms, are expected to sweep through these regions at speeds of 45-60 km per hour by evening.
Additionally, the weather forecast until 6:00 PM indicates that many areas in Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions, along with some parts of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, and Mymensingh divisions, may experience light to moderate rain or thunderstorms with temporary gusty winds. Moderate to heavy rainfall is also likely in some parts of the country. Day and night temperatures across the country are expected to remain largely unchanged.
