Dhaka, August 10, 2025 – Bashundhara Kings, the reigning Federation Cup champions of Bangladesh, have set off for Qatar to participate in the AFC Challenge League preliminary round. The team boarded an 11:00 am flight on Sunday to Doha, where they will face Syrian club Al-Karamah in an away match at Suheim Bin Hamad Stadium on Tuesday night.
Due to ongoing instability in Syria, Al-Karamah chose to host the match in Qatar. Upon arriving in Doha, Bashundhara Kings are scheduled to conduct their first training session on Sunday evening.
The AFC Challenge League preliminary round features ten teams from the West Zone, with the five winners of the knockout matches advancing to the tournament’s main stage, starting October 25. A victory against Al-Karamah will secure Bashundhara Kings a spot in the main competition.
