The inaugural admission test for Dhaka Central University concluded with the examination for the Faculty of Business Studies. The one-hour exam for the four-year honors course was held on Saturday, August 23, from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
According to the admission committee, 17,505 students applied for 1,885 seats in the Faculty of Business Studies, resulting in an average of approximately 9 candidates competing for each seat. A total of 16,813 candidates downloaded their admit cards for this unit.
Professor AKM Elias, Administrator of Dhaka Central University and Principal of Dhaka College, stated that coordination with local police stations has been ensured to maintain security during the examination. Additionally, students are volunteering to assist in the process. He expressed optimism that the first-ever admission test would be conducted smoothly.
UGC Chairman Foyez Uddin noted that the proposed Central University’s admission process is being conducted in a fair and organized manner. He expressed hope that the university’s ordinance would be announced soon, paving the way for it to become a model university.
The admission test for the Business Studies unit consisted of a 100-mark multiple-choice question (MCQ) exam, with a deduction of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer. The question paper included 50 marks from Bangla and English subjects and 50 marks from general knowledge. Additionally, 20 marks will be considered based on SSC and HSC results for preparing the merit list.
The evaluation of answer scripts is being handled by the technical team of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). Results are expected to be published online within 2 to 3 days.
The admission test is being held at Dhaka College, Eden College, Titumir College, Bangla College, Begum Badrunnesa College, Kabi Nazrul College, and Shaheed Suhrawardy College, with designated centers within these seven colleges.
