Dhaka, August 3, 2025: Afsan Mohammad Yahiya, Senior Vice-President of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal, declared that the July uprising had no single mastermind, emphasizing that the true driving force behind it was the collective effort of workers, students, and ordinary citizens. He made these remarks during a rally organized by Chhatra Dal at Shahbagh on Sunday to commemorate the martyrs of the July-August mass uprising.
Yahiya stated, “A political party that tried to claim ownership of the Liberation War has been wiped out. That party is the Awami League.”
The rally featured a virtual address by BNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman from London as the chief guest. BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir attended as a special guest, alongside senior party leaders and former student leaders.
