Since Sunday morning (August 3), Chhatra Dal leaders and activists from different districts and metropolitan units have been arriving in Shahbag.
Raju Ahmed, Joint General Secretary of Bangladesh Nationalist Chhatra Dal, said, “Today’s historic rally is witnessing the arrival of Chhatra Dal leaders and activists from across the country. Shahbag will transform into a sea of people. We will carry out our program peacefully.”
Bayezid Nasir, Central Assistant General Secretary of Chhatra Dal, added, “Leaders and activists from various parts of the country have come for the rally. Shahbag will turn into a sea of people. As per central directives, we will maintain a peaceful presence.”
Additionally, a large contingent from Brahmanbaria District Chhatra Dal has arrived in Shahbag. Led by former convener Fozayel Chowdhury and former Joint General Secretary Rafsan Jani Mezba, nearly a thousand activists reached Shahbag in the morning.
Rafsan Jani Mezba said, “We arrived in Shahbag at dawn. Currently, our activists are taking a breakfast break.”
Chhatra Dal leaders claim that this rally is a symbol of their struggle to restore democracy. They emphasize that the event is organized to peacefully raise their demands.
