According to a report by Malaysia’s TV3, a screening was conducted at KLIA Terminal 1 and Terminal 2’s international arrival and departure halls, targeting 764 foreign nationals due to suspicious behavior. Among them were 204 Bangladeshis, 14 Indians, 3 Sri Lankans, 3 Pakistanis, 3 Indonesians, and 2 Cambodians.
Despite holding valid travel visas, these individuals were denied entry due to issues such as fake hotel bookings, lack of return tickets, and insufficient financial means to support their travel and stay in Malaysia. Consequently, they were barred from entering the country.
Preliminary investigations suggest that these individuals may have intended to work illegally in Malaysia. Some had previously been denied entry one or two times but attempted to re-enter, only to be turned away again.
A Malaysian border control official stated that various agencies are working together to prevent such unauthorized entries in the interest of national security
