Popular ‘Female’ TikToker Turns Out to Be an 18-Year-Old Male After Arrest

A young man who posed as a woman to create and share videos on TikTok, aiming to gain more followers and views, has recently been exposed. The popular Egyptian TikToker, known as ‘Yasmin’ on the platform, was arrested on related charges.

According to a report published by Bol News on Thursday (August 21), the TikToker known as ‘Yasmin’ is actually an 18-year-old male student. He posted videos in the guise of a young woman, deceiving viewers to gain popularity.

Egyptian authorities stated that the police received complaints about inappropriate videos being uploaded from the ‘Yasmin’ account. Subsequently, the account owner was arrested. During interrogation, the suspect confessed that he had posed as a woman to increase followers, views, and earnings. The TikToker’s real name is Abdul Rahman. He further admitted that, in addition to gaining views and money, he adopted the female persona to attract attention for advertisements. His confession sheds light on the unusual tactics some content creators employ to stand out online. Following Abdul Rahman’s confession, he was charged with impersonation and violating public morality. As part of the investigation, authorities seized his phone and all his online platform accounts. After four days in custody, he was released on bail for 5,000 Egyptian pounds. However, his neighbors claimed they never noticed him engaging in any suspicious activities and described him as an ordinary young man.
