Robbery at Natore Sugar Mill: Security Guards Tied Up, Goods Stolen

A group of robbers tied up security guards at Natore Sugar Mill and looted goods, loading them onto a truck. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, August 3, 2025.

Police have taken the security guards on duty into custody for questioning. Neither the sugar mill authorities nor the police have been able to provide initial details on the extent of the stolen goods.

According to sources from Natore Police Station and the sugar mill, a group of robbers entered the mill premises in a minitruck at dawn. They tied up the security guards, entered the factory, and fled with the goods loaded onto the truck. Upon receiving the news, police arrived at the scene, rescued the guards, and took them into custody. The Managing Director of the sugar mill, Akhlaqur Rahman, said, “In the early hours, miscreants carried out a robbery at the sugar mill. The Ansar and our own security guards were tied up during the incident. We have instructed the preparation of an inventory of the stolen goods. The police are also working on the matter. The extent of the loss has not yet been determined.” Natore’s Superintendent of Police, Mohammad Amjad Hossain, stated, “We have visited the crime scene, and an investigation is underway. The police are working to identify the culprits and bring them to justice. The process of assessing the damage is ongoing. So far, at least six security guards have been questioned, and the rest will also be interrogated.”
