Thunderstorms Likely in Seven Districts by Noon

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has forecasted that seven districts may experience storms and thunderstorms with wind speeds of up to 60 kilometers per hour.

According to a weather forecast issued for river ports from 5 AM to 1 PM on Thursday (August 21), the alert was announced.

The forecast, signed by meteorologist Md. Tariful Newaz Kabir, states that Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram, and Cox’s Bazar may experience rain or thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds blowing from the south/southeast at speeds of 45 to 60 kilometers per hour. During this period, river ports in these areas have been advised to display cautionary signal number 1.
In a separate 120-hour nationwide forecast, it was stated that most parts of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions may experience temporary gusty winds with light to moderate rain or thunderstorms. Additionally, moderate to very heavy rainfall is possible in some areas across the country. Day and night temperatures may slightly decrease nationwide
