Youth Stabbed to Death at Shisha Bar in Banani

In the early hours of Thursday, August 14, 2025, a 31-year-old man named Rahat Hossain Rabbi was stabbed to death at a shisha bar named ‘360 Degree’ in Dhaka’s Banani area. The incident occurred around 4:30 AM.

According to Rasel Sarwar, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Banani Police Station, the incident stemmed from a heated argument on the staircase of the shisha bar’s second floor. During the altercation, Rabbi was stabbed in the leg by a few individuals known to him. He was rushed to a hospital in critical condition, where doctors pronounced him dead.

The OC further stated that Rabbi was at the shisha bar with his friends when the dispute escalated, leading to the fatal attack. The perpetrators, who were acquaintances of Rabbi and frequent visitors to the bar, are currently being sought by the police. Authorities are analyzing CCTV footage from the scene to identify and apprehend those involved.

Rabbi’s body has been sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for further procedures.
