Zayan and Team Aim for Victory in Second Match

Bangladesh is gearing up in Bahrain for the AFC U-23 Tournament qualifiers to be held in Vietnam. Tonight at 9 PM Bangladesh time, the Bangladesh U-23 team will face the Bahrain U-23 team in their second and final match. Although FIFA-recognized, both teams are playing this match behind closed doors.

The U-23 squad includes two expatriate footballers, Zayan Ahmed and Tanil Salik. Zayan was part of the starting eleven in the first match. Expressing optimism about the second match, Zayan said, “We aim to perform better in the second match. We’ve worked on correcting past mistakes and refining our tactics. We’re putting in a lot of effort and hope to return from Bahrain with a good result. Our goal is to win the second match.”

The Bangladesh Football Federation (BAFUF) shared Zayan Ahmed’s comments from Bahrain, where the American expatriate footballer is part of the squad. Tanil Salik, who arrived from England, also made his debut in the previous match, though no comments from him have been shared by BAFUF on media or social platforms. National team forward Al Amin, who is within the U-23 age limit, is also in Bahrain. Bangladesh missed Sheikh Morsalin in the first match, but Al Amin is hopeful about his return for the second game, saying, “Morsalin’s return for the second match is great news for us. Our preparations for Vietnam through these matches in Bahrain have been solid.” ---
