In Dhaka’s Mohammadpur, a suspected snatcher was killed and another injured in a mob beating while attempting to commit robbery. The incident occurred around 3 p.m. on Monday (September 8) at the end of Road No. 12, Block E, in Chandrima Model Town under Mohammadpur Police Station.
The deceased has been identified as Yamin (23), son of Mahbub Miya, hailing from Charsakina village in Lalmohan Thana, Bhola district. He was residing in Dhaka’s Udyan area. The injured individual, Fahim (23), is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital.
According to police, locals caught two unidentified youths attempting to snatch a mobile phone and subjected them to a mob beating, leaving them severely injured. Police and locals later rescued them and took them to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared Yamin dead.
Assistant Police Commissioner of Mohammadpur Zone under Tejgaon Division, AKM Mehedi Hasan, stated that the victim’s mobile phone was recovered from the scene. Preparations are underway to file two separate cases regarding the incident. The victim is currently at Mohammadpur Police Station.
