During the protests in Paris, police fired tear gas at demonstrators who had blocked the entrance to a school. Authorities also reported stopping a group of protesters attempting to enter a railway station. According to French officials, security forces were deployed nationwide to suppress the blockades.
Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau told reporters that protesters set a bus on fire in the western city of Rennes. Some demonstrators attacked police with heavy concrete blocks. He warned that “radical and far-left groups” could infiltrate the remaining protest gatherings, potentially leading to further violence.
