Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested a young man in Teknaf, Cox's Bazar, on suspicion of smuggling Yaba pills hidden in his rectum. The incident occurred on Sunday, September 7, 2025, around 3 PM during an operation on a CNG auto-rickshaw traveling from Teknaf to Cox's Bazar.
The arrested individual, Jahangir Ayes (25), son of Abdul Razzaque, a resident of Ward No. 8, Teknaf Municipality. A total of 1,982 Yaba pills were recovered from his rectum. Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Jasim Uddin, Commandant of Ukhiya-64 BGB Battalion, confirmed these details to Prothom Alo on Monday.
According to BGB sources, the auto-rickshaw arrived at the Whykhyang BGB checkpoint in the afternoon. BGB personnel stopped the vehicle for inspection and grew suspicious of passenger Jahangir Ayes. During preliminary questioning, he confessed to hiding Yaba pills in his rectum. An X-ray confirmed the presence of the packets. The pills were purchased in Teknaf and were being transported to Cox's Bazar.
Lieutenant Colonel Jasim Uddin stated that intelligence surveillance has been intensified to identify and bring drug traffickers to justice. The recovered Yaba and the arrested suspect have been handed over to Teknaf Police Station for legal action.
