In a record-breaking performance by Tanzid Hasan Tamim and Parvez Hossain Emon, Bangladesh secured a commanding victory to clinch the three-match T20I series against the Netherlands with a game to spare.In the second T20I at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, the Netherlands, batting first after losing the toss, were bowled out for 103 in 17.3 overs. Chasing a modest target, Bangladesh rode on Tanzid Hasan Tamim’s brilliant fifty to secure a 9-wicket victory with 41 balls remaining, sealing the series.
Tanzid Hasan Tamim smashed an unbeaten 54 off 40 balls, including four boundaries and two sixes. Captain Liton Kumar Das remained not out on 18 off 18 balls, while Parvez Hossain Emon scored 21 off 23 balls before being dismissed.
In a historic feat, Parvez Hossain Emon set a new record for the most sixes by a Bangladeshi batter in a calendar year in T20Is, hitting a six in the fourth over. However, Tanzid Hasan Tamim surpassed this record in the 12th over, smashing a six off Max O’Dowd over mid-wicket. Tanzid finished the year with 23 sixes, while Parvez hit 22 in 2025.
For the Netherlands, Aryan Dutt top-scored with 30 runs off 24 balls, including three fours and a six. Opener Vikramjit Singh scored 24 off 17 balls with four boundaries.
Bangladesh’s bowling attack was led by Nasum Ahmed, who took 3 wickets for 21 runs in 4 overs. Mustafizur Rahman claimed 2 wickets for 18 runs in 3 overs, and Taskin Ahmed picked up 2 wickets for 22 runs in 4 overs. Tanzim Hasan Sakib took 1 wicket for 16 runs in 3 overs, while Mehidy Hasan claimed 1 wicket for 24 runs in 3.3 overs.
