Tarek Rahman's Return Will Complete Half of Election Campaign," Says BNP Leader
Salahuddin Ahmed, a member of the BNP Standing Committee, has stated that Tarek Rahman's return to Bangladesh would effectively complete half of the party's election campaign efforts. He made these remarks on Sunday (August 7) during a discussion meeting organized by the Nationalist Tax Lawyers Forum at the Diploma Engineering Institute in the capital.
Ahmed emphasized the need to establish a political government through elections, stating, "We must establish a parliamentary government through elections to fulfill the nation's hopes and aspirations."
The BNP leader also suggested that elections could take place as early as a week before Ramadan in February 2026 or even earlier. He cautioned those attempting to create obstacles or spread confusion through misleading statements, noting that the country is already in an electoral atmosphere with a nationwide election fervor.
He further stated, "Tarek Rahman will return to the country very soon, and on that day, the groundwork for the election will be set. I’m not saying the election will happen immediately, but his return will complete half of BNP’s campaign efforts. The campaign is a key element of the election, and on that day, half of BNP’s campaign will be accomplished across the country." He also described Tarek Rahman's return as an unforgettable historic event.
