Dhaka: Three individuals have been detained by police in connection with the murder of Parvez, a student of Primeasia University, in Banani.
The arrests were made early Monday morning (April 21), confirmed Banani Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Russel Sarwar. However, the identities of the detainees have not yet been disclosed.
The incident reportedly stemmed from a dispute on Saturday afternoon, involving two female students from the neighboring University of Scholars. Parvez, along with students from the English department of Primeasia University, engaged in an altercation over the matter.
Although the university authorities claimed the issue was resolved, Parvez was later surrounded by a group of 30 to 40 individuals outside the campus. He was attacked with sharp weapons, leaving him critically injured. Parvez was rushed to Kurmitola General Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival.
