Chattogram: In a deeply disturbing case, a minor girl studying in the sixth grade in Satkania Upazila, Chattogram, was impregnated due to repeated sexual assault by her father, Mohammad Ali, a 40-year-old resident of Monohar Chowdhury Para in Chhadaha Union’s Ward No. 7. The accused was apprehended by police on April 23, 2025, after the incident came to light.
According to police and local sources, the victim was admitted to a private hospital in Keranihat Bazar on April 22 due to severe abdominal pain and vomiting. Medical examinations confirmed that the girl was pregnant. Under pressure from the accused father, the doctors performed an abortion. When questioned by her mother about the pregnancy, the victim disclosed the horrific details of her father’s assaults. Outraged, the family and locals handed Mohammad Ali over to the police.
Satkania Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Zahedul Islam confirmed the arrest, stating, “The accused father has been detained in connection with the rape of his daughter. The victim’s mother is filing a case as the plaintiff.” He added that legal proceedings are underway, and an investigation has been initiated.
The incident has sparked widespread anger and condemnation in the local community. Residents are demanding exemplary punishment for the perpetrator and calling for stricter measures to prevent violence against women and children.
