Dhaka, April 22, 2025: Students of Eden Women's College in Azimpur, Dhaka, staged protests against the newly introduced 27 hostel regulations by the college administration. The demonstration began at 8 PM on Tuesday, with students demanding revisions to several rules.
According to the new policy, the main campus gate will close at 9 PM, and students must report to their hostels between 8:30 PM and 9 PM. Protesters are demanding that the gate remain open until 10 PM.
Additionally, the new regulations ban all electronic appliances in hostel rooms. Items such as heaters, rice cookers, hair straighteners, electric kettles, room heaters, air coolers, and freezers will be confiscated if found, and fines ranging from 300 to 1000 BDT will be imposed.
Students have also demanded the introduction of an affordable laundry system on campus to reduce the need for personal electronic appliances.
Master’s final exam fee policy: Students oppose the rule requiring 50% fee payment after three months and full payment after five months.

Dining regulations: Students reject the mandatory dining rule and insist on ensuring food quality first.

As of now, the college administration has not issued an official statement. However, students insist that their concerns be addressed and the regulations revised.
