Bogura: In Bogura, three siblings have been arrested for running a fraud scheme by impersonating a judge, doctor, and CID officials. The accused, Md. Likhon Mia (33), Md. Rana Mia (30), and Md. Sumon Mia (28), were detained for extorting money from victims through deception.
During initial questioning, the trio admitted their involvement. They allegedly posed as judges, medical certificate providers, and CID officers to swindle money. A case has been filed against them at Bogura Sadar Police Station.
The fraudsters targeted the plaintiff of a murder case, demanding funds for a court order to exhume the victim’s father’s body and for a postmortem. They extorted Tk 2.05 lakh from the plaintiff, who sold livestock and mortgaged land to meet their demands.
Following an investigation, a CID team in Bogura arrested the three brothers. Further probes are ongoing to uncover additional details.
