Case Filed Against Former ACC Chiefs, Secretary for ‘False’ Cases Against Khaleda Zia

Dhaka, 18 May 2025 : A case has been filed against three former chairmen and a former secretary of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) for allegedly filing ‘false’ cases against BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia. The case was lodged at the Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court on Sunday, May 18, 2025.

The accused are former ACC chairmen Hasan Mashhud Chowdhury, Md. Habibur Rahman, Abul Hasan Manzur, and former secretary Mokhlesur Rahman.
The complaint alleges that the then-ACC officials filed fabricated cases against Khaleda Zia with political motives to harass her. The plaintiff’s lawyer, Md. Hosain Ali Khan Hasan, stated that the actions were taken to target a political opponent by abusing governmental power, which violates the law.
