Dhaka, May 18, 2025 : Dhallywood actress Nusraat Faria was detained at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Sunday while attempting to board a flight to Thailand. She was first taken to the Bhattara Police Station under the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) and later transferred to the Detective Branch (DB) office, where she is currently being interrogated.
Joint Commissioner of DMP (DB-North) Robiul Hossain Bhuiya confirmed the development, stating, “She was brought to the DB office from Bhattara Police Station around 4:00 PM. She is being questioned, and further details will be provided later.”
Sources indicate that Nusraat was apprehended by Immigration Police at the airport and handed over to Bhattara Police Station. The detention is connected to a case filed at Bhattara Police Station, accusing her of involvement in an attempted murder during the 2024 Anti-Discrimination Movement. The case alleges that she opposed the movement and acted as a financial supporter for the Awami League.
