Dhaka, May 4, 2025: The Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) will only disburse payments to contractors after verifying the quality of renovation and development works, according to DNCC Administrator Mohammad Ejaz.
Speaking at a meeting held on Sunday (May 4) at Gulshan Nagar Bhaban, Ejaz emphasized the importance of ensuring progress, quality, and efficiency in DNCC’s development projects. He stated that no form of corruption would be tolerated in securing contracts or payments, and strict action would be taken against any contractor or official found guilty of misconduct.
Addressing the contractors present, Ejaz instructed them to ensure safety and quality in all renovation and development works under DNCC’s jurisdiction. Payments will only be released after thorough quality checks, he reiterated.
To minimize public inconvenience and environmental pollution during ongoing projects, contractors were directed to cover work sites with jute or similar materials. Additionally, signboards must be installed at project sites, displaying the contractor’s details, project start and end dates, and contact information.
The meeting was attended by DNCC Chief Executive Officer Abu Saeed Md. Kamruzzaman, Chief Engineer Brigadier General Md. Moin Uddin, other DNCC officials, and representatives of contracting firms.
