Dhaka, May 24, 2025 – The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has forecasted moderate to heavy rainfall in parts of Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal, and Chattogram divisions, with heavy showers expected by Wednesday, May 28, 2025. The forecast was issued by meteorologist Kh. Hafizur Rahman on Saturday, May 24, 2025.
Weather Outlook for the Next Five Days
- Sunday, May 25, 2025: Temporary gusty winds accompanied by lightning and light to moderate rain or thundershowers are expected in some areas of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions, as well as parts of Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal, and Chattogram divisions. Moderate to heavy rainfall is likely in some parts of Rangpur, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions. Day temperatures may slightly decrease, while night temperatures may slightly increase.
- Monday, May 26, 2025: Many areas in Rangpur division and some areas in Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barisal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions may experience gusty winds with lightning and light to moderate rain or thundershowers. Moderate to heavy rainfall is expected in parts of Rangpur division. Both day and night temperatures may slightly increase.
- Tuesday, May 27, 2025: Some areas in Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions, and a few places in Rangpur, Rajshahi, and Mymensingh divisions, may see temporary gusty winds with lightning and light to moderate rain or thundershowers. Day temperatures may slightly increase, while night temperatures may slightly decrease.
- Wednesday, May 28, 2025: Most areas in Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal, and Chattogram divisions, and some areas in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions, are likely to experience gusty winds with lightning and light to moderate rain or thundershowers. Moderate to heavy rainfall is expected in parts of Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal, and Chattogram divisions. Day temperatures may decrease by 1-3°C, and night temperatures may slightly decrease.
The Meteorological Department also noted that rainfall activity is expected to intensify over the next five days across the country.
