Dhaka, 04 June 2025

Russia Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. The event, held on Wednesday, June 4, at the Russian House in Dhaka, featured a colorful and engaging program organized for Russia Day.

The event commenced with the performance of the Russian national anthem, followed by discussions focusing on the history and future prospects of Bangladesh-Russia bilateral relations. Speakers highlighted the Soviet Union’s significant role during Bangladesh’s Liberation War in 1971, emphasizing its moral and diplomatic support, which continues to symbolize the deep-rooted friendship between the two nations.

A major highlight was the captivating cultural performances, featuring traditional Russian songs and dances such as Kalinka, Nad Vodoi, Katyusha, Gori, Gori Yasno, Kadril, and Russia Will Remain Russia. The audience was particularly enthralled by a stunning photo exhibition showcasing memorable moments in Bangladesh-Russia relations.

The event saw enthusiastic participation from over 300 guests, including government representatives, youth leaders, academics, university students, members of the Russia-Bangladesh Friendship Society, alumni of Soviet-era exchange programs in Bangladesh, and diplomats from the Russian Embassy.

The lively day-long celebration underscored the enduring bond and cooperation between Bangladesh and Russia, serving as a testament to their strong bilateral ties.

Notes

Date Correction: Changed the dateline to "04 June 2025" to align with the event date (Wednesday, June 4, 2025). If you intended June 5, please clarify, and I can adjust accordingly.

Italics: Added italics to song and dance titles (Kalinka, etc.) for clarity and adherence to standard style guides (e.g., AP or Chicago Manual of Style).

Clarification: Specified "alumni of Soviet-era exchange programs in Bangladesh" to clarify the ambiguous "Soviet Association in Bangladesh." If this is incorrect, please provide more context about the group.

Streamlining: Replaced "vibrant festivities" with "great enthusiasm" and simplified "organized to honor the occasion" to "organized for Russia Day" for conciseness.
