Hefazat-e-Islam Holds Protest Rally at Baitul Mukarram Over Four Demands

Dhaka, May 23, 2025: Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh, under its Dhaka Metropolitan Branch, organized a protest rally today, Friday, May 23, after the Juma prayers at the north side of the National Mosque, Baitul Mukarram. Sources indicate that the organization also planned a protest march following the rally.

The rally highlighted four key demands:
  1. Abolition of the Women’s Affairs Reform Commission.
  2. Justice for the massacres at Shapla Chattar in 2013, March 2021, and July-August 2024.
  3. Withdrawal of all "false" cases filed against Hefazat leaders and activists.
  4. Immediate action to stop the genocide and oppression of Muslims in Palestine and India.
During the rally, Hefazat leaders urged the government to address their demands, emphasizing that these reflect the sentiments and rights of the country’s religious populace. They also reiterated their call to reinstate “full faith and trust in Allah” in the Constitution, replacing pluralism.
On the same day, the National Revolutionary Council held a protest rally and march demanding independence for Kashmir, Palestine, and Arakan (Rohingya).
The Hefazat rally saw significant participation from leaders and activists, who raised slogans to press their demands and called for swift government action.
