May 23, 2025 : The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has forecasted that seven districts may experience thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds reaching speeds of up to 60 km per hour. This information was provided in a weather bulletin issued for the country’s inland river ports, signed by Meteorologist Md. Tariful Newaz Kabir on Friday.
According to the forecast, the districts of Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram, and Cox’s Bazar are likely to experience temporary thunderstorms with gusty winds blowing from the west/northwest at speeds of 45 to 60 km per hour. Authorities have been advised to display cautionary signal number 1 in these areas during this period.
The nationwide weather forecast for the day indicates that some areas in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, and Sylhet divisions, along with a few places in Barishal and Chattogram divisions, may experience light to moderate thunderstorms with gusty winds. Additionally, daytime and nighttime temperatures across the country are expected to rise slightly.
