Dhaka, May 25, 2025: A tragic road accident occurred at Banani Kakoli intersection in the capital at 9:50 AM today, resulting in the deaths of two motorcyclists. According to eyewitnesses and police sources, a motorcycle collided with a vehicle carrying a concrete mixer machine, leading to the immediate death of both riders at the scene.
Following the accident, Banani Highway Police promptly arrived at the spot and detained the vehicle involved. Banani Thana Police and Highway Police are jointly investigating the incident. The bodies of the deceased have not yet been identified. Authorities have stated that legal proceedings are underway.
The Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Banani Police Station said, “We have recovered the bodies from the scene and seized the vehicle. Efforts are ongoing to identify the deceased. The investigation to determine the cause of the accident is in progress.”
This accident has raised fresh concerns about road safety in the area. Locals report that speeding vehicles frequently pose a risk at Kakoli intersection. The police have assured stricter monitoring and measures to enhance road safety.
