Dhaka, 03 June, 2025 : A Sub-Inspector (SI) of Motijheel Thana, Kamrul Islam, was killed after being hit by a Balaka Paribahan bus on the Khilgaon flyover slope in Dhaka’s Shahjahanpur Thana area. The incident occurred on Monday (June 2) at 8:10 PM near the road opposite Khalil’s meat shop in Khilgaon.
Kamrul Islam, whose hometown is in Netrokona Sadar Thana, resided with his family in a rented house in the Basabo area of Khilgaon. According to Shahjahanpur Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) Jahangir Hossain, the SI was riding a motorcycle from Basabo to Motijheel Thana when the accident occurred. Local residents rushed him to Islamic Bank Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries at around 9:30 PM while undergoing treatment.
The Balaka Paribahan bus involved in the accident has been seized, and its driver, Jahangir Ahmed Tipu, has been arrested by the police. The body of the deceased has been kept at Mugda Medical College Hospital. OC Jahangir Hossain confirmed that a case is being processed in connection with the incident.
