Dhaka, June 24, 2025: A clash broke out between two groups of supporters of BNP leader Ishraq Hossain at the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) building, leaving two individuals injured. The incident occurred on Tuesday (June 24) afternoon, and the injured, identified as Monir Hossain (45) and Mahidul Islam (35), were rushed to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for treatment.
Inspector Md. Faruk, in-charge of the DMCH police camp, confirmed the incident, stating that the two individuals were injured during a confrontation between factions of Ishraq Hossain’s supporters. They are currently receiving medical care at the hospital. While the exact cause of the clash remains unclear, it is believed to have stemmed from internal political disputes.
Meanwhile, Ishraq Hossain has called for an urgent press conference at 4:30 PM today at the National Press Club to address various demands of Dhaka residents, civic services, and ongoing activities of the city corporation.
