International Desk, June 13, 2025 : Israel has declared a state of emergency amid fears of retaliatory attacks from Iran, instructing citizens to seek safe shelter. Following Israeli airstrikes on nuclear and military installations in Tehran and other areas, Iran launched a counterattack with over 100 drones.
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz declared the emergency, warning that “Iran may soon launch a retaliatory attack on Israel.” Early Friday, after the strikes on Iran, sirens and emergency mobile alerts woke residents in Jerusalem.
Major General Rafi Milo, head of Israel’s Home Front Command, stated, “We may hear widespread alerts or sirens across the country. All citizens are urged to seek shelter quickly in secure locations. If no safe room or bunker is available, take cover in stairwells or inner rooms of buildings.”
Israeli military spokesperson Avichay Adraee confirmed that all air defense systems are active, adding, “This is a challenging situation, and we must face it with patience and courage.” Details of the drone attacks remain undisclosed, but the military has warned of a potential worsening of the situation.
